If you have ever lived in the Great Plains or have family that do, you know that they can have some extreme weather events like tornados and hail bigger than most people will see in a life time. Well last week the weather decided to turn the hail knob to 11! Laurel McCoy, a lead meteorologist with the National Weather Service Office in Omaha, Nebraska said, “We'll see large hail every year, but we haven't seen a significant hailstorm like this in a few years. These storms are not as common, but not terribly rare. It’s the combination of the large hail with 80 mph winds that causes all the damage.” You don't have to imagine what SOFTBALL sized hail and wind like that can do to a home, you can see it yourself.
