(Austin, TX) -- The latest state budget proposal is on its way to the state comptroller [[ controller ]] for his approval. Texas House and Senate budget writers came up with their final version of the 338-billion-dollar two-year spending plan on Saturday. Its priorities include teacher pay raises, property tax cuts, and upgrading the state's water infrastructure. Comptroller Glenn Hegar will verify whether the state has enough revenue to cover the proposed spending. The thousand-plus-page bill will then head to Governor Greg Abbott's desk.
