+Preparing for the incoming weather. Several school districts across the area are cancelling classes for Tuesday and Wednesday . For information on your school, go to your district’s social media pages. All Lamar campuses in Southeast Texas will be closed Tuesday.
+The city of Beaumont is setting up warming stations at Henry’s Place and The Salvation Army. Animals are not allowed. However, Beaumont Street Pets have secured overnight shelter at 4270 E Lucas. Beaumont ZIP will provide free buses to transport to the shelters.
+In Orange County, the swing bridge on Roundbunch Road will be closed and will reopen on Wednesday.
+Local law enforcement agencies are advising citizens to stay off the roadways. If you do travel, be careful on bridges and elevated overpasses.
+From Hardin County Judge Wayne McDaniel: I have issued the attached Declaration of Disaster for Hardin County this morning ahead of the imminent Winter Storm.
The Hardin County Courthouse is closed Monday in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, and I have ordered the closure of the Hardin County Courthouse and all non-essential services on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, due to inclement weather related to the Winter Storm.
Hardin County Commissioners and their personnel are out today preparing bridges on County Roads ahead of the anticipated snowfall beginning this evening and continuing throughout most of the day tomorrow. I encourage everyone who can stay off the roads to please do so once the wintry precipitation begins.
+Jefferson County Offices Closed Due to Inclement Weather
Judge Jeff Branick has ordered the closure of Jefferson County offices on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, due to inclement weather. All non-essential services will be suspended until further notice. All essential personnel will report as required by their supervisor.

+From City of Beaumont:City Offices Closed due to Inclement Weather City facilities will be closed to the public on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 and Wednesday, January 22, 2025. All City meetings scheduled for those days will be cancelled. The City will open and resume daily operations on Thursday, January 23, 2025. A winter weather event will affect the City of Beaumont over the next several days, which is anticipated to make travel hazardous. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our area, we are expecting to experience rain, sleet, snow, and some ice accumulation. Winter precipitation is expected to cease around mid-day on Wednesday, but travel conditions will remain hazardous. Please use caution while driving and only travel if absolutely necessary. The following City facilities will be impacted: * City Hall * Event Facilities * Municipal Court * Public Libraries Solid Waste will not operate on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 and Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Public Safety personnel and other essential City Staff will continue to be available to meet the needs of the community.
