Paxton Calls For Phelan's Resignation

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is calling for the resignation of House Speaker Dade Phelan, of

Beaumont, claiming Speaker Phelan was intoxicated on the house floor Friday evening. Phelan slurred

words while speaking. Phelan denies the allegations. His office says the speaker was tired during a

14 hour session. Phelan’s office says the move by Paxton is to draw attention from lawsuits filed against

the attorney general by former employees.
