A 1-year old girl that may have been exposed to illegal narcotics has died. The child was brought to
the Exceptional Emergency Care Center in Port Arthur on May 14th. The child was holding a small
clear bag and has a white substance on her nose, which caused cardiac arrest. She died at a Houston
hospital yesterday. Her mother, 30-year old Ava Chambers, was arrested at the Normandy Apartments
on May 14th and charged with injury to a child.
