Jefferson County Sheriff Zena Stephens is reporting the death of a corrections officer at
the correctional facility as being COVID-19 related. 58-year old Dudley Champ passed
away yesterday. He had been hospitalized and was in ICU for the past several weeks. Dudley
had been a corrections officer since May of last year.
