United States Senator John Cornyn has announced the Hardin-Jefferson School District will
receive nearly $28 million in federal grant money to replace Henderson Middle School, which
sustained significant damage from Hurricane Harvey. The school was inundated with flood
water that remained in the building for two weeks creating the growth of mold and mildew. The
federal grant will pay for 90% of the project.
