Hardin County Deputy Involved In Deadly Shooting

A Kountze man that approached a Hardin County deputy with a knife and tree limb yesterday

afternoon, was shot and killed by the deputy. 31-year old Joshua Chase Connor refused orders

from the deputy to drop his weapons when the deputy was forced to shoot him. The incident on

Villa Road started when the mother of Connor called to sheriff’s office and told them her son

had assaulted her and stole her car. The deputy has been placed on administrative leave, which is

standard policy. The Texas Rangers will assist in the investigation.
