This Memorial Day, Imagine Dragons, Gavin DeGraw and Boyz II Men will pay tribute to the U.S. military by performing a special concert. Side By Side, A Celebration of Service is a two-part event going on in New York City on Saturday, May 25.
The first part of the event is scheduled to take place at noon at Rockefeller Center. DeGraw, Boyz II Men, the U.S. Navy Band and cast members from Jersey Boys and Wicked are set to perform for veterans, active military members, and their families. The show is free and open to the public.
That evening, Imagine Dragons take the stage at Radio City Music Hall. Northwell Health plans to provide free tickets to hundreds of military members, veterans, and their families. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday (March 29) and can be purchased through Northwell Health's official website.
“This is an opportunity to reflect on the joy of being free and alive in America, and extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all those who have served our country as well as the families who support them,” Northwell Health president and CEO Michael Dowling said in a statement. “It’s not the celebration itself that’s important, but never forgetting the sacrifices of veterans and their families.”
Aside from great music, Side By Side will also give attendees the opportunity to interact with U.S. Navy equipment and hear stories from veterans.
