Checking Friday at the pump shows no change in the average price of a gallon of gas in the
Beaumont/Port Arthur area, as the average price stayed at $1.96 a gallon. The statewide
average is up a penny to $1.98. This morning’s national average for a gallon of gas is up
two cents to $2.28. These averages are compiled daily by Triple A Texas.
