It didn’t take long for an inmate that was released was jail this morning to end up back behind bars. Jonathan Dewayne Gloston was released on a charge of public intoxication when he stole a motorized cart after overpowering a maintenance worker. Gloston wrecked the cart while being chased by the deputy. He ended up taking the deputy’s personal vehicle

after the deputy slipped and fell during a foot pursuit. Officers were able to shoot out the tires of the fleeing vehicle on Highway 73 in Groves. Glosten has been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, robbery, and evading detention.
