Charges have been filed against a Beaumont man accused of firing shots towards Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies during a foot pursuit. 34-year old Byron Earl Bush is charged with attempted capital murder of a peace officer. Deputies were at the Stone Hurst Apartments conducting a follow up burglary investigation when Bush fled on foot and shot at deputies. He is hospitalized in stable condition after deputies returned fire striking him twice. Bond has been set at $500,000 on Bush who is the son of BISD trustee Zenobia Bush.
