A Beaumont man has been indicted by a JeffersonCounty grand jury on two counts of attempted capital murder. 34-year Byron Earl Bush is accused at firing shots at Jefferson County deputies during a foot chase on May 23rd. The deputies were at the Stone Hurst Apartments on East Lucas Street investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred in Nome when Bush fled on foot and fired shots at the deputies who returned fire striking him twice. Bush was hospitalized then transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
Bush, the son of BISD Trustee Zenobia Bush, faces up to life in prison if he is convicted.
